Christine is Bristolian born and bred, now living and working in Monmouthshire. Here she explains the background to her work:
“I was lucky to just catch the last of the traditional teaching of clay modeling in the life class at Camberwell School of Art London. I loved it then and still do.
A lump of clay represents endless possibilities. We are hard wired to respond emotionally to the human form and face. So subtle is the language, I am fascinated by how a small change in the angle of the neck, the shape of the body, or the shape of the mouth can trigger a response in the viewer. I cast all my own work as I am also interested in the finish and patination of each piece.”
Christine's pieces are cast in stone, bronze resin or iron resin, and can be placed outdoors.
