Andrew hails from the Forest of Dean, and has been working with raku for many years. He often incorporates metal into his pieces, recalling the trench art created by soldiers from discarded battlefield debris.
The fiery colours and velvety textures are created by the way the flames surround the pots as they are plunged, still burning hot, into a bed of sawdust. No wonder he describes himself as 'a bit of a pyromaniac', addicted to the unpredictability of pots fired in naked flames.
