Cath Read is an award-winning Bristol based artist who originally studied Fine Art at Loughborough and went on to pursue a career in Community Arts and Art Education before returning to fine art at the age of 50.
She draws her inspiration from the interwoven rhythms, patterns and light of British landscapes and coastal fringes. In Bristol she is especially well-known for her paintings of the city, particularly of the areas close to her home: St Andrew's Park, the allotments in St Werburghs, and cityscapes of Bishopston, Redland and Cotham all feature regularly.
