Jill is mostly interested in the human form, often working from life models. Even working with the rough texture of crank clay, her preferred medium, she portrays feelings of calm and tranquillity – her figures are often captured in reflective mood: meditating, stretching, reading, or sharing a tender moment together.
She has recently been working in stone, sculpting both human and animal forms, and here it is the smoothness of the medium which lends its tactile quality to what is portrayed.
