Foxgloves – Jonathan Rees

Bristol-based wood-turner Jonathan uses locally-sourced timbers to create unusual turned articles for the home, producing functional yet beautiful items such as bowls and clocks. His particular interest is in the use of colour and texture on bowls and platters turned from timbers native to the UK. These include sycamore and beech, which can otherwise be somewhat plain, as well as oak yew and ash. He enjoys the unpredictable nature of wood as a natural product and the fact that even the best designs cannot circumvent what nature has in store.
