Catherine Williams

Catherine was born in Bristol and lives in South Gloucestershire. She is an accomplished printmaker, having studied Fine Art at the University of the West of England, before going on to complete an MA in printmaking.

Her keen interest in nature is reflected in her work, with many of her pieces featuring the natural environment and presented in a series of ‘walks’ comprising a number of images around a theme.

Catherine uses a variety of etching techniques to represent the textural qualities she is portraying, from the rough textures of bark and foliage in her woodland pictures to the smoother surfaces of the bridges and buildings of her city walks.

She has recently started to work in pen and ink, producing a series of delicately-coloured sketches based in and around Bristol.
