Jane Cox

Jane Cox, a lifelong painter and Bristol based artist, taught Biology at College and University for 37 years before retiring in 2021 to indulge her passion for art. Preferring to work in acrylic, her paintings explore cloudscapes which evolve as she paints, with a focus on form and colour. Inspired by the large, moody skies of Anglesey and the amazing cloud formations that appear even in cityscapes she creates works that place the sky centre stage. Her interest in art history and the influence of old masters is often evident in the attention to detail and the use of umber.
